Garissa woman suspected to stealing child charged

Asha Mohamed, the middle-aged woman, was on Wednesday arraigned in Garissa court and charged with abducting a 2-month old baby from its parents at the Garissa Referral Hospital.

Asha was accused of posing as a nurse at the hospital on Monday 15th August 17 when she allegedly took the baby, 2016 but she denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Margaret Wachira.

Asha was denied bond and remanded until September 20, 2016 to allow. This was to allow the prosecution to conclude investigations into the case since it was feared that she may interfere with the ongoing investigations.

She will appear for mention of the case on August 30th. On the other hand was directed by the magistrate to supply the accused with witness statements at the cost of the suspect.
