“Once completed, the 350-bed hospital is expected to significantly reduce the burden on Kiambu Level 5 Hospital and provide specialized healthcare services to residents of Kiambu and neighbouring counties,” the Ministry of Health said on X.

Mr. Kimtai conveyed positivity regarding the advancement of the project, highlighting the government’s dedication to enhancing healthcare accessibility in the area.

Under the government program, Universal Health Coverage is among the top priorities that have to be achieved.

During former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure, he championed the Big Four Agenda that included Health cover to all citizens.

President Ruto upon taking power introduced the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) with plans to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
