Government Has No Capacity Interfere With Churches, Treat Mackenzie Isolatedly

The Akorino spiritual leaders have urged the government not to interfere with the affairs of the church as every church has a different faith and a constitution thus no need for regulation.

Speaking at Kakuku in Ithanga, Muranga, the Akorino clerics said what is happening at Shakahola in Kilifi should be treated as an isolated case saying it shouldn’t be construed to mean all pastors are like Paul Mackenzie.

Bishop Joseph Ngugi Ndungu of the Kenya Israel Church who led the other clerics said the Church was capable of regulating itself without the government’s interference in its internal affairs.

Peter Murigi Njogu a deacon said the government has failed to stop homosexuality and lesbianism in the country even after the supreme court okayed it saying this is an indicator that the government cannot be trusted with spiritual matters. The Akorino clerics however said there are laws like LGTBQ which the church cannot adhere to even when passed by parliament.

“Any law that contradicts our faith, we shall treat it as null and void. They also faulted the composition of the newly appointed commission of inquiry saying the president should have considered appointing a Mkorino in the mix. They said the commission ought to consist of spiritual leaders because the government is secular and cannot investigate spiritual matters.

Boniface Murigi a youth leader of the Akorino sect said LGBTQ is a satanic organization wondering why the government is taking too long to stop it. He said the Akorino sect is discriminated against when it comes to government appointments.
