The Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring that Kenyans are well-informed and adequately prepared for opportunities abroad.
Speaking during the official opening of the 3rd edition of the Kazi Majuu Job Fair, at Friends’ High School, Mbale Grounds in Vihiga County, Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi emphasized the importance of educating Kenyans about the available job opportunities in the international markets.
The PCS added that the Kazi Majuu Job Fair provides the Government with an invaluable opportunity to empower and chart the course of Kenya’s future generations that now is entrusted in the hands of the young people.
The County Governor of Vihiga who was also present in the event echoed the Prime CS sentiments and emphasized the importance of ensuring that Kenyans, particularly at the devolved level, are well-informed to prevent them from falling victim to fraudulent agents.
According to the State Department for Diaspora Affairs the Principal Secretary Ms. Roseline njogu, praised the collaborative efforts of various MDAs, such as the State Departments for Immigration, TVETs, Labour & Skills Development, agencies such as the National Employment Authority and the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) for the success of the Kazi Majuu Programme.
“The whole-of-government approach has been critical in the implementation of the Kazi Majuu Programme, as it addresses labor mobility management, protection of the diaspora, facilitation of the processes, as well as creation of sound policies to facilitate safe, orderly and regular migration, and regulation of the space.” PS Roseline Njogu said.
The State Department of Diaspora Affairs reported that the Diaspora job fairs serve as a critical platform for providing comprehensive guidance on labor migration, including procedural requirements, documentation, job placement, and connecting job seekers with recruiters.
