Government to lose 4B if the SGR case continues to stall

Endless court battles will see the government lose Ksh. 4 billion in the standard gauge railway land compensation row. The land which is located in Bonje, Mombasa County, has seen endless counter applications by parties involved in the case for over two years now.

Through the environment and lands court judge in Mombasa, Justice Charles Yego, and the court advised the parties to stop misusing the court to derail the case through filing endless counter applications and let the case begin.

The judge made the remarks after he was forced to adjourn the case until December 4th, 2019.

The land tussle involves Kihia transporters and ex-chief Julius Keah on ownership land, as both parties have been paying land rates to Kwale County.
