Nandi County Police boss Thomas Ngeiywa has urged Nandi Governor Stephen Sang to surrender. On Friday, Governor Sang led locals in destroying over 2,000 tea bushes at a private farm.

The farm is said to belong to an influential former minister and Member of Parliament. Sang alleged that the four acre farm was grabbed from the community.

Ngeiywa said detectives are aware of his whereabouts and will effect an arrest if he fails to honour their plea. Sang is wanted for incitement and destruction of property

“He must face the law. Today he must surrender, or we will get him,” he said.

According to Sang, the disputed piece of land was allegedly given to the community more than two decades ago when the expansive tea plantation was under different ownership.
