The Public Service Commission has dismissed reports of former news anchor Jacque Maribe’s appointment as Head of Communications in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
PSC has also refuted claims of being behind the appointment contrary to a statement attributed to the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, performance, and Delivery Management, Moses Kuria.
“The Public Service Commission has not appointed former Royal Media journalist Jacque Maribe as Head of Communication in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, contrary to social media posts attributed to Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria,” read the notice in part.
Moses Kuria is quoted to have said, “It is true, except that I am not the one who appointed her but the Public Service Commission.”
PSC chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri clarified that no such appointment has been made, and neither has a request to employ Maribe has been received by the board.
His clarification on Thursday comes three days after reports of Maribe landing the role surfaced on social media. On 1oth March, Dennis Itumbi, a political consultant took to social media to congratulate Maribe on her appointment.
Sharing via his X page, he stated, “Congratulations, Jacque Maribe. May God bless you as you serve Asante @HonMoses_Kuria for standing with a generation, please keep doing good and stretching your hand.”
PSC chairperson Anthony Muchiri further clarified that the position would be filled via a competitive process. “For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” he said.
