A photographer named Brigitte, who is also the creative director behind her website, Pardon my French, has created a beautiful photo series in which she celebrates her grandmother turning 90 years old.
rigitte, who describes herself as ‘a wife, dog-owner, Harry Potter Geek and chocoholic’, and also works as a midwife, had always wanted to do a photoshoot with her grandmother, whom she describes to be a ‘special, little old lady’.
Obviously, she had to make the experience as special as possible for her grandmother – and the photos just as incredible.
According to Brigitte, the photoshoot was a total surprise. She had planned it in secret with the help of her family.
On her website, she wrote: ‘My brother picked her up for lunch, but when she arrived to my home studio and saw the streamers, confetti, balloons, cake and the huge smile on my face she knew we weren’t going out to lunch.’
As soon as the surprise shoot was revealed, Brigitte dressed her grandmother in a tutu and tiara, to pair her with a French-themed breakfast.
The ‘breakfast’ consisted of homemade madeleines, made by Brigitte’s husband the night before
Brigitte said that the cake smash was ‘one of the cutest things’ she’d ever seen.
She recalled: ‘We had retro tunes playing and Nan was being so delicate… her mannerisms had my brother and I in stitches laughing!
‘We stopped on two photos; one of Nan on her Wedding day when she was only 18 years old… and one of grandpa in his Army Uniform from WWII around the same age,’ wrote Brigitte.
‘Nan and I got dressed in some gorgeous ball gowns, vintage fur and pearls and went to the park down the road for some portraits.
