Nine people have been killed and three others critically injured after a PSV vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident with a trailer along the Kericho – Kisumu highway.
It is believed that the Kisumu-bound truck lost control at a high point near Nyaberi area as a result of brake failure, causing its cabin to disconnect and veered-off its lane. According to an eye witness, the disconnected cabin crashed the Kericho-bound matatu belonging to Wareng SACCO, killing nine people on the spot.
The injured, including the driver of the truck, were rushed to Kericho District Hospital.
