On Tuesday, the Harambee Stars boosted their hopes of securing a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a decisive 2-1 victory over Namibia at Orlando Stadium in South Africa.
The talented striker John Avire gave Kenya the lead in the 57th minute with a well-placed strike. The same energy was kept when central midfielder Duke Abuya scored the tie-breaking goal in the 76th minute, giving the team a head lead.
Team Namibia reduced the deficit during stoppage time with a free kick, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Harambee Stars from sealing a crucial win.
After this recent win over Namibia, Kenya now sits atop Group F, tied with Cameroon at four points but leading due to a superior goal difference.

Kenya’s positive form, following a 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe that drew a lot of criticism for Team Kenya’s head coach Engin Firat for playing without strikers against Zimbabwe, has grown undoubtedly strong.
Now this win over Namibia gives them the momentum to keep going into the match confidently.
