The former Wiper General Secretary, Hassan Omar, has announced that he will be challenge Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s re-election just few days after confirming his departure from Wiper Party.
“I will challenge the Mombasa County governorship election,” Omar said during a presser today.
Omar said that he will challenge the results citing irregularities during vote counting and tallying which may have favoured Joho.
Omar came third in the race for Mombasa governor behind Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal and the winner.
Omar further said that he had resigned from Wiper a long time ago adding that he hardly hat to resign throuh action.
“You do realize immediately after the elections I have been fairly absent from the political scene.”I had resigned indeed from Wiper, but I hardly had to resign now through action… so I was doing nothing all of you might have realized…” continued the former senator.
Omar further termed the Wiper leadership as “weak, meek and unfocused”.
