Heads of States Calls for Strengthened National Commitment During 42nd AUDA-NEPAD Virtual Session

In a strong call for action, African leaders have been urged to take full ownership of the continent’s development by domesticating, implementing, and championing Agenda 2063 Africa’s blueprint for socio-economic transformation.

Speaking during the 42nd Session of the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD) Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee, leaders emphasized the need to mobilize resources, strengthen governance, and forge strategic partnerships that will drive sustainable and tangible progress for all Africans.

“African leaders must shape the trajectory of our continent’s development by domesticating, implementing, and championing Agenda 2063,” stated President Ruto.

“Let us mobilise resources, strengthen governance, and forge strategic partnerships that deliver tangible and lasting benefits for the people of Africa,” he added.

The session underscored the critical role of national AUDA-NEPAD offices in ensuring seamless execution, tracking, and reporting of Agenda 2063.

Leaders called on African nations to establish and strengthen these offices, ensuring they are well-resourced and equipped to monitor progress effectively.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of regional intergration, Intra- African trade and climate resilience which are key pillars in achieving the Agenda 2063 goals.

The call to action from the AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee reinforces Africa’s commitment to self-reliance, economic prosperity, and sustainable development, ensuring that the aspirations of Agenda 2063 become a reality for future generations.
