Homeless after fire , Mukuru Wa Njenga dwellers

At Mukuru kwa Njenga slum in Nairobi report says that many people were left homeless after a fire broke out yesterday night.Police reported that fire started at one of the houses before spreading and flattening more than 30 structures. They said no injuries were reported.

In March, close to 500 families were left homeless in a fire at the slum.The houses were razed in less than an hour.Burglars took advantage of the commotion to loot from affected houses and carted away the little residents had salvaged.

Nearly 100 people were left homeless in an incident that month at Mukuru kwa Reuben slum.Police have cited illegal electricity connections as the cause of fires in Nairobi slums.
