Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen Takes Over the Ministry of Interior and National Administration

Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen officially assumed the role of Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration on Friday 20th December ,2024.

The outgoing Acting Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi who served in the capacity for the past few months, handed over the reins during a formal ceremony.

Mudavadi  acknowledged the immense responsibilities of the ministry, emphasizing its critical role in safeguarding national security, fostering efficient administration, and upholding the rule of law.

“Having had the opportunity to serve in an acting capacity for the past few months, I have gained firsthand insight into the immense responsibilities that come with this vital state organ,” Mudavadi said.

Mudavadi served in the docket after the former interior Cabinet Secretary Prof.Kithure Kindiki  was nominated for Deputy President position following the ex- Deputy’s Gachagua impeachment.

Hon. Murkomen now the Cabinet Secretary for  Interior and National Administration, expressed gratitude for the shared insights that will ensure a seamless transition.

“To be entrusted by the President with the responsibility of serving our country in the Cabinet is a great honour and privilege. I’m deeply indebted to him for re-assigning me to a new role in his Cabinet,”  stated Murkomen.

“We will build on their achievements to deliver what the President promised the people of Kenya,” added Murkomen.

The outgoing acting  CS extended warm wishes to Hon. Murkomen and commended the dedicated leadership team of Principal Secretaries Dr. Raymond Omollo (Internal Security & National Administration), Prof. Julius Bitok (Citizen Services), and Ms. Salome Beacco (Correctional Services)—for their unwavering commitment to delivering on the ministry’s mandate.
