Starehe MP Charles Jaguar will be detained for three more days to allow police complete investigations on his remarks against foreign traders.
Magistrate Sinkiyan Tobiko issued the order on Friday morning directing police to detain him at Kileleshwa Police Station. The Prosecution’s request of two weeks was declined by the magistrate who termed it as ‘unrealistic.’
A team of investigators seized the MP’s mobile phone which is being forensically examined.
“Police are yet to get text messages (SMS) and Call Data Records (CDR) relating to the phone number he was using before time of arrest,” the prosecution said.
Jaguar was arrested on Tuesday following his promise to eject foreign traders operating in his constituency particularly in Gikomba.
