A group of rowdy youth in Homabay County on Wednesday burnt down a new banner belonging to the new Jubilee Party that is set to be launched on Saturday.
The angry residents pulled down the banner bearing the Jubilee ‘Tuko Pamoja‘ slogan from a billboard and set it ablaze.
The youth were reportedly protesting what they termed political invasion by Jubilee in the ODM region.
Jubilee Party is set to be launched in a mega event set for Saturday at Kasarani Stadium with delegates converging from Thursday.
The party was formed after close to 12 parties agreed to merge into one major political outfit to be used during the 2017 General Election.
On the other hand, in a move to apparently rival Jubilee, ODM will be holding a mega-event on Saturday to mark its 10 years of existence.
The party is set to unveil more than 800 branded vehicles which will traverse the country to drive ODM’s campaign agenda.
