Kalonzo accuses the Kenya Kwanza Regime of Mismanagement and Fear Mongering Towards Kenyans

By Ronny Thiong’o

Kalonzo Musyoka has rightly criticized the Kenya Kwanza (KK) regime and has raised concerns about the administration’s future and governance style.

“The government is living in fear and on borrowed time,” Kalonzo argued in a bold statement, implying that its hold on power may be weakening the country due to internal and external pressures.

One major issue highlighted is the controversial management of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), a critical national asset.

“JKIA is a very important national asset, you cannot do single sourcing,”,” he emphasized, condemning the government’s approach to procurement processes.

He went on to stress the need for transparency and accountability in managing such vital infrastructure.

Deals involving the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) are primarily managed by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

This state corporation is responsible for overseeing the operations, development, and management of airports in Kenya, including JKIA with the KAA handling contracts and procurement processes related to airport infrastructure, services, and expansions.

Additionally, high-profile deals could involve approvals or directives from top levels of the government, including the National Treasury and relevant parliamentary committees.

Controversies regarding the transparency of procurement at JKIA, such as accusations of single sourcing or lack of competitive bidding, have led to public scrutiny.

Calls for accountability emphasize that such significant national assets should be managed with full transparency to avoid corruption or mismanagement

These remarks reflect a growing frustration with the current administration’s decision-making and have sparked further debate on properly handling national resources and assets.

As tensions rise, many are watching closely to see how the KK regime will respond to these mounting criticisms.
