Kenya Commercial Group (KCB) has assured its customers that the bank group is aware of claims of an alleged data breach in one of its systems.
Through its official statement, the bank said that an investigation had already begun in relation to those concerns, assuring their clients every data was safe.
“An investigation points to malicious misinformation that has caused concern amongst some of our customers. The alleged customer data breach has been found to be false,” read the bank official statement.
The bank noted that its system and mobile apps had been extensively tested and thus, there should be no cause for alarm since everything was intact and safe.
“We wish to assure all our customers that our platforms and data are highly secured. KCB Group systems including the mobile App have been extensively tested and validated by our internal and the best external data security experts. Multiple layers of encryption, private keys and unique authentication are among the key embedded data security features that safeguard our mobile app,” read anothe part of statement
There is no System breach
The bank management assured that there was no any breach to its system, cautioning that those who coined the malicious information to misguide others legal actions will be taken on them.
“The bank is working with the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal action against the parties who originated this misinformation.
