Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are set to be released today.
This is a major revolution in ministry education, with previous year’s results used to be released late in the month of December.
This year, a total of 952, 472 candidates sat for the examination.
Out of the number 473, 719 were girls and 478, 753 were boys.
Tough rules.
Unlike the previous years, 2016 national examinations saw a revolution in management after the current Cabinet Secretary of Education Fred Matiang’i bringing in many guidelines that changed the whole face, a way to control exam leakage.
Head teachers were given the role of managing the exam centre in the 26,308 KCPE centres countrywide.
Third term events were moved to the second term.
In addition, other students and unconcerned teachers were directed to vacate the schools before the exam commenced.
The containers were also introduced to store exams with police involved heavily to provide a maximum guard to the containers.
Changing the custom, the only papers that were opened for distribution were papers expected to be sat for on that day, with all officers taking the exam to invigilation centres present during the opening of the papers.
The Ministry of Education is working alongside that of ICT and Internal security for round-the-clock monitoring of exam papers.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) also banned the use of clipboards and geometrical sets from examination rooms during other papers.
Candidates were also required to carry their geometrical instruments and writing materials in a clear see-through porch/poly bag/plastic paper.
