A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education candidate was ambushed and raped by a gang of four men minutes before getting to school in Tayari village, Nakuru County yesterday.
Molo OCPD Daniel Kamanza confirmed the incident and divulged that the 17-year old girl was in the company of two classmates, a boy and a girl when they were waylaid by four men who were armed with machetes.
According to Kamanza, the other two classmates managed to escape but unfortunately the girl, who was on her heels, fell down before the men pounced on her and performed the beastly act.
“The girl was in the company of two classmates but along the road, they bumped into a group of men armed with pangas who threatened them and in the process defiled the girl,” Mr Kamanza stated.
The other two students managed to get help from villagers who immediately arrived at the scene and caught one man in the act while the other three managed to escape.
The villagers ruthlessly attacked the suspect before they called the police to arrest him. The girl was later rushed to Molo hospital where she was treated and discharged to sit for her exams.
Mr Kamanza said that the suspect would help in the arrest of the other three suspects who managed to escape.
