The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has demonstrated commitment to security and preparedness by conducting a camp security exercise named “PROTECTION WARRIOR I” at the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) Force Headquarters in Goma.
Led by Captain John Paul Butichi and Lieutenant Abdiaziz Issack, the KDF Base Platoons displayed exemplary professionalism and skills during the exercise.
The troops engaged in various drills, including crowd control, rapid response time, coordination and communication, flexibility, occupation of observation posts, and patrolling in built-up areas. These exercises not only tested their physical abilities but also emphasized the importance of coordination and vigilance in safeguarding the UN Force Headquarters.
The exercise aimed not only to prepare the troops for potential emergencies but also to identify any vulnerabilities in the camp’s security infrastructure.
By enhancing coordination and fostering vigilance among the troops, the KDF showcased their commitment to ensuring the safety of the UN Force Headquarters.
The successful execution of the exercise PROTECTION WARRIOR I underscores the importance of ongoing training and readiness for KDF personnel serving in peacekeeping missions.
It also emphasizes the critical role that the KDF plays in supporting the UN’s efforts to maintain peace and security in conflict-affected regions.
