Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau has directed Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria to keep off his functions completely and respect them as the MP accused Wa Iria of ‘invading’ his functions in what he terms as plans to ‘bring chaos’ in the functions.
This came after Kamahuha incident when Governor Wa Iria attended a fund’s raising event where Kamau was invited as the chief guest but her wife, Agnes Irungu, went on to represent him.
The Governor is accused to have arrived at the function with his supporters riding on boda bodas while a Public Address system mounted on one of his vehicles caused excessive disturbance through loud music.
“Just like I don’t attend his functions to disrupt them and cause chaos, I also expect him to show me the respect that I deserve,” the MP said.
“On June 24, 2016 during a prize giving day at Gatanga Girls Secondary School, Wa Iria attended the function uninvited after he learnt that I was the chief guest,” noted the MP.
On June 12th, the Governor turned up for an event I was invited as the chief guest. He had to disrupt his itinerary after learning that I was in Githiambo.
The fierce critic of the Governor accusing him of mismanaging the county resources, has now called on the line government agencies to take action against politicians he says are out to divide Kenyans along tribal lines adding that such divisions are a recipe for chaos even as the country gears to the 2017 General Election.
