KENHA Announces Temporary Closure of Section of Nairobi Southern Bypass

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA has announced the temporary closure of a section of the Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road.

The closure will commence on Tuesday 24th December 2024, at 8:00pm to Sunday 5th January 2025 midnight.

In a notice issued by KENHA, the closure is necessitated by ongoing road maintenance and rehabilitation works aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of the highway.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) would like to inform the public that a section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange (both carriageway) shall be temporary closed. This is to enable the rehabilitation of the expansion joints of all the virtual weighbridge,” stated KENHA via a public notice.

However the authority has issued alternative routes which will be used during the maintenance period.

“All traffic will be diverted through Mombasa Road (A8) Highway, Lang’ata Road and Ngong Road as an alternative route during this period.

Additionally, KENHA has urged motorists to exercise caution around the work areas and adhere to to the proposed traffic management and ccooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site to facilitate smooth operations.
