Former assistant Finance Minister and Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth yesterday hinted that he will back the President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto for re-election during 2017 general elections. to reports that he is eyeing the Nairobi governorship seat in the 2017 General Election.

The  2013 private candidate presidential aspirant also said that he has resulted not to go for the presidency adding that at least three different counties have approached him including the Nairobi County.

Kenneth, however, refuted clarifying the County of his choice though in his remarks showed his desire to join the already congested race for Nairobi governorship as Jubilee targets to oust CORD’s Dr. Evans Kidero out of the seat in 2017.

“I am consulting widely on all counties whose electorate has asked me to consider,” Peter kenneth said said.

Since losing the 2013 presidential race, Mr Kenneth has kept off the public limelight, only making appearances at some state functions and the funeral of former First Lady Lucy Kibaki in Nyeri.

“I will not be running for presidency…I have been approached by one or two counties including Nairobi. I will decide which one to go for,” he said.

Kidero on his part has welcomed his competitors and assured them that they will get a run for the money as he is confident of serving a second term as the city boss.
