Kenya to host key health conference in March

Nairobi will be hosting the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) between March 7th and 9th 2017.

The event, which will is hosted by Amref Health Africa in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Nairobi City County, Ministry of Health (Kenya) and the World Health Organisation will draw the attendance of over 450 high profile participants from across the continent, Europe and North America.

It will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi. The event is meant to identify and discuss gaps and challenges in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa and share scientific research findings and best practices addressing health and health systems in Africa.

It will also chart a road-map for the implementation of a continent-wide Community Health Workers Strategy. Keynote speakers during the conference will include David Pritchard, Vice-President, Africa and Developing Countries of Asia, GlaxoSmithKline, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and Marijke Wijnroks, the Chief of Staff, Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
