Kenya continues to strengthen its partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a relationship that has consistently delivered meaningful impact across key sectors of national development.

“Kenya deeply values its enduring and impactful partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), whose steadfast support has touched critical sectors such as food security, health, education, and infrastructure development,” stated PCS Mudavadi.

The discussions underscored the depth of collaboration between Kenya and Japan, highlighting key milestones while setting the stage for future cooperation.

“Our discussions celebrated notable milestones while reaffirming the need to sustain and expand this partnership,” affirmed Mudavadi.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on JICA’s invaluable contributions to Kenya’s socio-economic progress.

“JICA’s strong commitment to agricultural development is evident in the rehabilitation of the Ahero Irrigation Scheme in Kisumu County, a project poised to significantly boost rice production, strengthen food security, and uplift the livelihoods of surrounding communities,” added the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

The discussions also reviewed the progress of the Mombasa Gateway Bridge which upon its completion, is set not only to opening up the coastal region but also enhance regional connectivity and accelerate trade across East Africa.

Both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to scaling up this partnership, by building on a strong foundation of mutual trust and shared vision for the benefits of the country.
