Kenya ranked 3rd in generosity

Today it’s you tomorrow is all about me. This is the thump of rules for Kenyans in their itinerary to saving or supporting each other.

And their kindness has been rewarded globally after Kenya citizens were recognized as some of the most generous people in the world.

This declaration was according to a yearly global index of charitable giving that was released this week.

The generosity in Kenya is observed in several ways.

Some people may decide to offer or donate money while others may donate to a good cause relevant materials in need, volunteer to work for free, and often give a hand to complete strangers.

And according to the rankings by World Giving Index 2017 Kenya was ranked position three out of 139 countries surveyed.

This was an improvement from the previous position 12 rank last year after garnering 8 more points to make it 60%.

Sampling

Data was collected from 139 countries around the world.

It was then subjected to evaluation to find out which countries are the most generous.

The data was evaluated according to three types of behavior namely: Giving money to a good cause, volunteering their time and helping a stranger.

The increase in giving nature of Kenyans is attribute to a boost by M-Changa, a mobile phone application run by telecommunications company Safaricom.
