Kenyan schools were forced to relinquish the overall East Africa secondary games title to Uganda after the later secured 11 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 7 bronze medals to pip Kenya who collected 10 gold medals 11 silver and 6 bronze medals in Arusha.
This is the second time Uganda are winning the overall title, the first one being 5 years ago in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania. Kenya has recorded wins in 16 of the past editions.
Rwanda finished third after bagging 2 gold medals, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals as hosts Tanzania secured 5 medals to finish fourth. Zanzibar and newcomers Malawi finished 5th and 6th respectively.
The 19th edition will be held in Kakamega, Kenya.
