Kenya has made an emphatic start to the hunt for medals at the ongoing EAPCCO Games in Ethiopia, securing a stunning victory in the men’s 4×400m relay during Sunday’s curtain-raiser at the Abebe Bikila National Stadium.

The team, comprising William Rayian a bronze medalist in the 2022 Commonwealth Games Kipkorir Rotich, Erastus Mbaruka, and Eric Kimathi, delivered a powerful performance that filled the stadium with excitement and patriotic cheer.

“Kenya made a crucial statement in a curtainraiser event Sunday afternoon by bagging the highly coveted Gold in the men’s 4×400m relay,” stated NPS.

Their impeccable teamwork and speed earned Kenya the prestigious gold medal, sending a strong message to competitors about the country’s ambition in the Games.

However, Ethiopia clinched the silver medal, while Tanzania settled for bronze after a fiercely contested race that thrilled the crowds.

The Kenyan team, drawn from the National Police Service has pledged high morale until her thirst for more medals and the highest spot on the awarding podium is quenched on the track, darts, boxing, handball and shooting.
