After President Ruto dissolved his cabinet on Thursday 11th July 2024, at State House, a majority of Kenyans appeared on social media to express their happiness and applauded the President for the bold step he took to dissolve the cabinet.

President Ruto announced a press briefing at State House, Nairobi on Thursday afternoon following two weeks of anti-government protests led by Gen Z which saw the protesters invade parliament by force after overwhelming the police officers.

A few moments after the President dissolved his cabinet, Kenyans from different parts of the Country came out in large numbers to thank the President for the step.

A high number of Kenyans said to the President that the monster in this country is corruption and he must fight it at all costs to ensure that anyone serving in public office is free from Integrity issues.

Gen Z called President Ruto to clean the entire Executive and demanded the sacking of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi terming the office as unconstitutional.

Some of them appeared to be celebrating the dissolution of the Cabinet by President Ruto.

“The President of the Republic of Kenya has dissolved the Cabinet, The Power lies with the people always,” Activist Hanifa Adan wrote on X.

Also, some opposition legislatures appeared to welcome the move by the President to dissolve the cabinet.

“Sacking all the Cabinet Secretaries is a solid start,” Senator Sifuna said on X.

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina said that the dissolution of the cabinet will not be a solution to the challenges facing Kenya since PSs have no difference from the CSs.

“The more things change the more they remain the same!  Principal Secretaries are the biggest crooks! William Ruto appoint all Gen Z’s as Principal Secretaries … let them define their future,” Ole Kina wrote on X.

President Ruto’s forthcoming actions in forming a new cabinet are eagerly awaited, both in Kenya and abroad, as the situation unfolds.
