Kenyatta University has today launched a new website and mobile app. The new website is an upgrade of the original website ku.ac.ke that adds new features and makes navigation through the website more organized and easier.
The event took place at Kenyatta University amphitheater and was marked with celebrations and entertainment.
Speaking before the launch, students praised Kenyatta University management for coming up with such a great idea to create a mobile friendly website, and more, the first ever app for the university.
The university mobile app that has received over 300 downloads just minutes news of its unveiling circulated. The app, Version 1.0.5 is available on play store http://bit.ly/2dOkvf and makes accessing news and information simpler if you don’t want o use website.

On the other hand, recently, Kenyatta University has was ranked the best university in sports in Kenya beating their rivals United States of International University (USIU) and University of Nairobi.
It was not only about sports, another team of Kenya’s Kenyatta University emerged 8th globally in the 2016 Global Management Challenge which seeks to bridge the management skills gap between colleges lecture halls and the boardroom.
CNBC Africa had an interview with Oliver Maina, a commerce student from Kenyatta University, who led the Kenyan team to the finals in Macau, China.
According to Maina, GMC is a really huge opportunity for students who haven’t had the chance to learn the practicability of what they learn in class translated to the practical in the real world.
What the competition really does is that you are given a virtual company and then you form a team. The team members become the top management of that company and therefore they are expected to make take decisions relating to the sales and marketing, production, human resources and finances of the company.
The decisions are made in a highly competitive, constantly changing environment because the simulation software assesses all the decisions of each participating team in comparison with the decisions of the other competing teams within their group.
As such, no decision is right or wrong, however, the team that makes better decisions compared to others within their group is rewarded by achieving the best Investment Performance for the shareholders of the virtual company at the end of the Competition.
