Kenyatta University Launches Its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan

Kenyatta University has officially unveiled its 2023-2027 strategic plan.

The strategic plan’s primary objective is to establish KU as an exemplary institution for exceptional teaching and learning.

The launch event, held on Friday, marked the beginning of a journey towards enhancing the university’s global reputation through a strong focus on research and innovation.

University officials, members of staff, alumni, students, stakeholders and the Ministry of Education through the office of education cabinet secretary convened at Kenyatta University’s amphitheatre for the launch.

The university’s chancellor, Ambassador Francis Muthaura, described the 5-year strategic plan as a transformative initiative to position the university as a centre for innovative education and a hub of solutions for society’s most pressing issues.

The Chief Guest and education cabinet secretary, Ezekiel Machogu who was represented by Dr. Gideon Mbithi, the director of the Research Ministry of Education applauded the 5 pillars guiding the plan confirming its alignment with the government’s bottom-up economic transformation agenda.

The acting Vice Chancellor professor, Waceke Wanjohi emphasized the plan’s significance in fostering innovation, community service, and contributing to Kenya’s sustainable development goals.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of administration and finance stated that the strategic plan would play a pivotal role in offering high-quality education to both the local and global community while meeting the needs of all stakeholders.

Staff members present at the launch expressed optimism and pledged their full support towards achieving the university’s ambitious goals in the next five years.
