Kenyatta University (KU) has emerged as a top winner at the Nairobi International Trade Fair held at Jamhuri Park Showground, clinching several prestigious awards that underscore its leadership in education, research, and innovation.
KU scooped:
- 1st Position – Best University Stand
- 1st Position – Stand that Best Interprets Current Show Theme: Education and Research
- 2nd Position – Best Innovation and Invention Stand
- 2nd Position – Best Stand in Research and Development (Educational)
- 3rd Position – Best Stand in Hospitality and Catering Services
These awards reaffirm KU’s role as a trailblazer in sustainable solutions, technological innovation, and academic excellence.
Additionally, President William Ruto, visited the KU Stand during the Trade Fair.
He toured a variety of impactful projects that showcased KU’s cutting-edge innovation and community-focused initiatives.
The President was impressed by KU’s waste-to-wealth initiative, which converts mixed waste into KVL-WOOD an eco-friendly building material that promotes conservation, empowers informal waste collectors, and creates jobs.
He also engaged with robotics, automation, and IoT demonstrations, designed to spark curiosity and encourage innovation in technology.
KU further showcased its North Coast Beach Hotel project, a model of excellence in hospitality and tourism management that blends learning, leisure, and career development.
However, with these achievements, Kenyatta University continues to shine as a national leader in research, innovation, and transformative education.
