Kilifi ODM MCA wants party to dismiss rebels who betrayed the party

A Kilifi Member of County Assembly (MCA) wants the Orange Democratic Movement party to dismiss elected leaders who betrayed the party to support Deputy president William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

Nixon Muramba, the MCA for Kakuyuni ward told the ODM leadership not to be lenient to the traitors who do not want to follow party rules.

Addressing journalists in Malindi on Tuesday the MCA said Party leader Raila Odinga and ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna should not fear anything but  nullify their membership so that they go for a by elections in their respective constituencies or wards.

Among those likely to be political casualties include vocal Malindi member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa , Suleiman Dori (Msambweni), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Badi Twalib (Jomvu) and Benjamin Tayari (Kinango) and several other MCAs from Kisii and Homabay.

“The Law should take its course equally not to favor MPS  and be tough on the MCAs if it like me who rebelled all rhw laws would have axed me,’’ he said.

Tha Kakuyuni MCA said on October 10 those summoned fail to appear before the ODM disciplinary committee should be removed from the party so that they seek fresh elections.

Muramba also dismissed statements made by the Deputy President William Ruto that Odinga plans to remove him from Jubilee party.

He told the DP to stop mentioning Raila’s name because the ODM party leaders is a respected leader and a person who had united the country.

“He gave the handshake to President Uhuru Kenyatta , his aim was not to remove Ruto but to cool down the political temperatures in the country after the 2017 general elections and to prevent any deaths,’’ he said.

The MCA said the building the bridges initiative reached between President Kenyata and Odinga was meant to unite Kenyans and not to oust the DP
