Kisii county assembly cannot hold its sittings, courtesy of unresolved impasse pitting Speaker David Kombo against a section of MCAs.
This is even after the beleaguered Speaker obtained a court order allowing him to resume work pending hearing and determination of a court case he had filed.
Kombo has been out of office for a considerable period after attempts to impeach him aborted opening flood gates of acrimony from the two opponents.
A selected ten member house committee from the two opposing sides to arbitrate on the protracted dispute failed to charmer a truce.
Briefing the media,a representative of the committee,Bernad Nyagaka Ogari of Birongo ward, said the members from the divide stuck on their grievances.
While one section claimed the Speaker Kombo was legally in Office, the other alleged he had been impeached.
Suggestions to select two members to chair the house proceedings on a temporary basis was also shot down.
As the committee planned to hold further deliberations,an idea in the offing was that governor James Ongwae be approached to take over the reconciliation bid.
