Independent Investigative bodies including Police Oversight Authority(IPOA) have moved in to unearth causes of deaths at Rioma police station in Kitutu Chache North.
The move followed the deaths of a motorcyclist operator and a 16 year old learner allegedly in a police cell and from gun shot wounds.
Kisii County Police Commander Francis Kooli assured the residents that police were not above the law and those who will be found to have contravened it will be held accountable.
The commander disclosed calm had returned to Rioma Police Station and the adjacent trading center whose routine activities were paralyzed by public protests for three days.
Appealing to the residents to respect the rule of law,Kooli urged them to volunteer any information that would assist the independent investigators to unravel the cause of the deaths.
The commander equally advised leaders to desist from inciting the public through social media even after investigations had commenced.
