Bobaracho fc hammered Kegati fc 4 – 0 to clinch the Eric Obino cup at Bobaracho grounds in Kisii Central sub county.
The winner also bagged Ksh. 30,000 as the run-up received Ksh. 20,000.
Nyanguru fc which came third got Ksh. 10,000 with participating teams taking home Ksh. 5,000 each.
Before the finals, eight teams had played the matches in groups ‘A’ and ‘B’ to sort out qualifiers of the next stage.
The tournament’s sponsor, Journalist,Eric Obino who is aspiring for the area parliamentary seat in next year’s general elections challenged the youth with talents to nurture them.
According to Obino, sports talent had turned out to be a source of employment and income at a time formal jobs were increasingly becoming scarce.
The journalist pledged to empower youths in groups instead of advancing handouts to individuals and added he was keen in intruding more sports events for competition.
He appealed to the sportspeople to adhere to ministry of health protocols on covid19 prevention so that they can be able to participate in the impending general elections.
