Kitui Governor Dr Julius Malombe has named his 12-member team to run his administration as chief executives to spearhead his development agenda in the county.
The nominees are expected to face a vetting panel comprising members of the County Assembly to ascertain their suitability before they assume their offices.
Unveiling the chief executives at his county headquarters office, Dr. Malombe, noted that upon the appointment after their vetting, the county executives will begin to execute his development master plan strategy that he unveiled during his first address to the members of the county assembly last week.
“I will kick off the development plan immediately upon approval of the supplementary budget to ensure residents begin to enjoy fruits of devolution.”
He observed that youths of Kitui county are integral part of his development plan, and he will address issues pertaining the youth through the docket of the ministry of youth, sports, ICT and innovation.
On the issue of water shortage experienced in various parts of the county, the county government boss noted that the agenda is key in his plan and that his government will pursue the matter and ensure to resolve it by collaborating with stakeholders to reduce the acute water shortage.
Dr Malombe said that he is committed to the mission to spur and regain the county’s lost glory.
The governor said his government will work closely with the national government in order to incentivize growth across the county and ensure equality in development to all residents in the county.
The Governor expressed concern over high demand of bursary funds and promised to increase the current bursary kitty location of Sh. 40 million to Sh. 120 million to help needy learners.
“Education is back bone of community’s wealthy, development and good leadership and we need to invest in our children’s education by ensuring no needy learners drops out of school due to lack of fees” said the governor.
