Kitui girl with disability beats odd and tops in KCSE

A girl from Kitui who has been battling albinism has gone against many odds to emerge victorious in KCSE examination as announced yesterday by Education CS Prof. George Magoha.Gloria Nzomo. who was a student at Moi girls in Nairobi had to endure many odds including stigma to get a mean grade of A- and emerged the best student with disability in Kitui and the 12th nationwide.
According to her, it took a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve the kind of marks she got.She urged other pupils with disability to work hard as with dedication all is possible.
Her mother Sharon Mwikali couldn’t hide her joy for the stella performance depicted by by her daughter.
She said that though bringing up a girl with such disability was not easy, she had to bring closer her girl in order to understand her better and support her to achieve more.
Just to mention the girl was one of the survivor from the fire tragedy which happened 4 years ago while in form one at Moi girls nairobi,kibera which killed almost 10 students who were her classmates
