Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), has assured the public that all systems are now fully operational following a brief lapse in service due to system downtime over the past two days.
In a statement, the hospital confirmed that the Social Health Authority (SHA) system has been successfully integrated with their operations, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and staff alike.
“ Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) wishes to acknowledge a slight lapse in patient care today and reassure the public that the Social Health Authority (SHA) system is now fully operational and aligned with the KNH system. Normal operations have resumed, and patients are being attended to,” read the statement.
The recent downtime temporarily disrupted some of the hospital’s services, leading to delays in patient clearance and administrative processes.
KNH expressed regret for inconveniences caused to patients and their families.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this may have caused to our patients and their families,” Dr.Kamuri noted.
The hospital has taken immediate steps to address the backlog and enhance service delivery.
To mitigate the impact of the downtime, KNH deployed additional personnel across all affected departments, extending working hours to ensure that all pending cases are resolved promptly.
“To address the backlog caused by the downtime and expedite service delivery, additional personnel have been deployed across all affected departments with extended working hours,” the statement read in part.
Dr. Evanson Kamuri, Chief Executive Officer of KNH, reaffirmed the hospital’s dedication to offering specialized care.
