KNUT criticizes County profiling

Kisii county KNUT officials have criticized national examination body managers for their utterances on impending exam cheating by some schools in the region.

The officials claimed  the remarks  a mounted to profiling the county with a view to setting panic on the national exams candidates.

In their statement read by KNUT  Gucha branch executive secretary, Joseph Makabe,the KNEC chairman prof. George Magoa was asked to unconditionally apologize to the local community.

Makabe assured the KNEC  and government that the exam stakeholders were ready for the exams irrespective of the condemnation from those supposed to protect them.

Prof. Magoa and education ministry principal  secretary Bellio Kipsang have been quoted as disclosing that certain schools including four from Kisii  were being investigated over their plans to engage in exams irregularities.

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiangi who also visited the county separately  warned the crooks will be apprehended swiftly than before saying his ministry was partnering with its education counterpart to secure the exams.
