The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) hosted a delegation of French companies at the Port of Mombasa today, where they received a comprehensive brief on potential investment opportunities in the logistics and transport sector.
The Authority showcased the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone project in Mombasa and the Lamu Port as key areas attracting significant investments.
During the meeting, the Manager of Container Operations Mr. Peter Masinde highlighted the substantial progress made by KPA in expanding and modernizing ports and inland waterways, positioning it as a regional logistical hub.
He emphasized the Authority’s commitment to improving efficiency and increasing capacity to meet the growing demand for trade in the region.
The French delegation included heads of other Regional Economic Services from Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Tanzania, and Kenya, who acknowledged the crucial role of the Port of Mombasa in the regional economy. They conveyed interest in the current programs and endeavours carried out by KPA.
The visit aims to strengthen economic ties between Kenya and France, as well as to explore potential areas of collaboration in the logistics and transport sector. The French delegation expressed optimism about the future of the partnership and the potential for further collaboration in the logistics and transport sector.
The meeting proved to be successful, as both sides expressed satisfaction over the future and the possibility of working together in the logistics and transport industry going forward. It is anticipated that the visit will result in more commerce and investment between Kenya and France, strengthening the region’s standing as a significant hub for logistics.
