The KPL U20 tournament’s December edition entered Day Three of action on Monday 19th December with four matches lined up, in Groups A and B.
In the Pool of Death, Group B, matters came really complicated as all teams now have three points following Gor Mahia U20’s 2 – 1 win over Western Stima while Ulinzi Stars beat Posta Rangers U20 4 – 1 in the first match of the day.
Both Gor Mahia and Ulinzi Stars had lost their opening matches and this will make for an interesting final group matches.
In Group A, it was a roll for Chemelil Sugar U20 after they easily saw off defending champions Mathare United U20 2 – 0 to become the first team to sail through to the quarters after two straight wins, having beaten Sony Sugar 2 – 1 in the opening encounter.
Sony Sugar U20 are all but eliminated after picking a second beating in the 1 – 3 loss to Muhoroni Youth on Monday.
Day four of the tournament, Tuesday 20th December will see Group D and C teams get to action.
The first of the day will be the Group D game pitting Thika United U20 against AFC Leopards U20 at 8am before paving way for the Group C game, Sofapaka U20 against City Stars U20 at 10am. The afternoon schedule will have the Group D game pitting Kakamega Homeboyz against Tusker then the final match of the day will have the Group C clash pitting Ushuru U20 against Bandari U20 at 4pm.
