KPLC DECRY INCREASED ILLEGAL POWER CONNECTION

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company Nyandarua branch has decried over increased cases of illegal power connectivity in the area.

According to the county Kenya Power business manager Simon Muturi, the growth of power connectivity in the county had created room for the unscrupulous electricians who were connecting customers to power lines illegally.

This, he said had resulted in the company incurring losses noting that those found using illegal connections will have to pay for the power they had used.

Muturi noted that illegal connections had resulted in power overload to a transformer which was causing frequent blackouts.

He added that illegal connections also posed a life threat as most of them were not properly installed.

The manager who was speaking during a crackdown on illegal connections in various towns across the county noted that tough actions will be dealt against those connecting power to people illegally.
