Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) women’s league will kick-off on February 5 at Kenyatta University.A statement released by KRU said Blad Babes will host the first round of the 10-a-side festival before USIUplays host to the next round on February 19.
KCB, who are the league’s defending champions, will play host to the third round of the league on Sunday before action moves to Impala, which has been added to the circuit.The action will as usual climax in Nakuru, where Nakuru Ladies will host the leg at Nakuru Athletics Club on April 14.
Mwamba, KCB, Homeboyz, Impala, Shamas, Blad Babes, USIU and Nakuru Ladies are some of the teams taking part in the league. Quins have since disbanded their team.
KRU age grade and women’s rugby coordinator, Nicholas Aballa, said: “The tournaments will be played on Sundays, apart from the final festival which will be held on Good Friday in Nakuru.”
