The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a crucial deadline for students wishing to apply for inter-institutional transfers.
KUCCPS, the body responsible for the placement of students into universities and colleges across Kenya, has set the deadline for inter-institutional transfer applications for the upcoming academic year.
Students seeking to transfer from one institution to another are required to submit their applications by July 4, 2024, according to the latest announcement.
Inter-institutional transfers offer students the opportunity to switch between universities or colleges for various reasons, including academic preferences, proximity to home, or changes in personal circumstances.
In its announcement, KUCCPS mentioned that the procedure would additionally facilitate course changes provided applicants meet relevant cut-off points.
Applicants will have a 30-day window to make their desired adjustments, after which the portal will close on July 4th.
To qualify for a transfer, applicants must have been initially placed in the program from which they seek to transfer.
Additionally, applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the application procedure and provide all necessary documentation to support their transfer requests.
The applicant must access the KUCCPS portal at https://t.co/GgsBhEJQ1b and provide their KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year and Password.
It is recommended that students use their Birth Certificate or KCPE Number (as registered during the KCSE Exam) as their initial password.
Once logged in, the applicant can then proceed to choose their preferred institutions, ensuring they meet the specified cut-off points.
KUCCPS made the announcement a day following the directive from the National Assembly Education Committee for the Ministry of Education to retract all university admission letters.
