With the IEBC officials ready to vacate the office with dignity, the need to fix the occupancy seems to have kicked with Moses Kuria, Gatundu South Member of Parliament marshaling support for Eliud Wabukala.
Moses Kuria who was at Pan Paper grounds in Lugari constituency on Sunday termed the retired head of Anglican Church in Kenya neutral person who exhibits high integrity and also respectable.
Kuria was in company of Ayub Safula (Lugari MP) and Stephen Kariuki (Mathare) when he further urged the opposition to accept the current process in the disbandment of IEBC and if not, then allow the current team to conduct 2017 elections.
Last week, commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) led by their chair, Ahmed Issack Hassan, expressed their readiness to go home saying they will support any dignified process for their exit.
“The country is bigger than any of us and if there will be a political settlement, the commission will not be a stumbling block,” said Hassan.
