Moses Kuria fronts ODM aspirant for the Kibra by-election

Moses Kuria, the Gatundu South MP has come out openly in support of ODM’s candidate Benson Musungu for the upcoming Kibra by-election. He believes that a leader born and raised in Kibra is best fit for the job. ODM has 11 aspirants for the by-election and will conduct nominations this Saturday. Nominations had been postponed over lack of security due to the census

Kuria in a Facebook post said he supported Musungu as he was born in Kibra. He compared him to the late MP Ken Okoth who was also born in Kibera.

“My late friend Ken Okoth was born in Kibra hence his deep passion to uplift the lives of Kibra people. The person I vouch for to take forward from where Ken left is another Born in Kibra, Benson Musungu,” Kuria said.

“I have challenged my friend Ronnie Osumba to create a Born in Kibra (BIK) movement to bring together people who manage to break off from the challenges of Kibra and make it in life to go back and help lift Kibra from the yoke of poverty,” he said.

Just yesterday Kuria requested the DP, William Ruto via Twitter to let former footballer, McDonald Mariga to instead develop football and other talents in the country instead of politics. Mariga is Jubilee’s candidate for the by-election. it is highly speculated that he is Ruto’s choice. The big question should be just what is Kuria’s interest in the Kibra by-election?

The campaign period for the by-election will run from September 9 to November 4. The By-election will be held on November 7th.
