Macdonald Mariga’s entry into politics has elicited lots of advice from friends and foe for the former footballer. The latest to give his piece is Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria. The twist is that Kuria is requesting the Deputy President to let Mariga be.
Kuria thinks that Mariga should instead concentrate on building football and other talents. He can join politics another day in future.
In a tweet posted for the Deputy President William Ruto’s attentionfor Mariga to be let be as he “will live to join this silly, dirty game of politics another day.”
On the other hand, activist Boniface Mwangi feels that Mariga is a terrible role model as he endorsed gambling. He is thus unfit to run for MP.
Mr Mariga is Jubilee’s candidate for the Kibra seat that fell vacant following the death of Ken Okoth.
