Kutv and radio services, and Kutv’s health reporter Eliud Mutwiri was yet again recognized for his excellent piece titled Ukimwi sio zimwi which sheds light on the resilience of young people living with HIV in the slums of Nairobi who are embracing the use of ARVS to curb the spread of the virus.
Mutwiri was recognized in The NOPE awards for his excellent storytelling ability, producing stories that focus on the significant contribution and the impact young people living with HIV/AIDS are creating in society through campaigns and seminars awareness about the use of ARVS to cut the spread of HIV.
Ian Oyondi was the camera person for the piece, Emmanuel Mwendwa and Benjamin Njue edited the video and Eric Mshila worked on the graphics.
Young journalists have been encouraged to break the traditional way of storytelling and tilt their lenses and keyboard to stories that transform society.
The organizers lauded the significant role of media and individual journalists who have dared to make a difference in their writing and reporting play.
This is the second recognition Eliud Mutwiri and Kutv and radio services have received in just three months for its excellent journalistic piece for shedding light on stories that transform society through robust editorial policy that focuses on topics such as health and environment, education and research climate change, agriculture and food security, business, and technovation.
